Yesterday I was getting directions to go over a friends house, and I was using Google for directions. When my destination appeared – so did a pictureof my friends house. Not an aerial shot, not a satellite government camera. Has anyone seen this?! I knew this was a pilot, preliminary thing in San Fran but not Baltimore. About a week ago, googled has made it pretty official with their “pegman” feature showing you a street-view of pretty much anywhere, inside the beltway region. You can click on the screen and look around 360 degrees. Check it out. Play around with it – its pretty fun.

But this new technology also has been sparking a lot of ideas with me. With deliveries, home purchasing, homeland security.. just the thought that NOW when getting directions to “Marys” house, you print out directions AND a PICTURE of her house!!!!
