My Name is David Zobel and I am an illustrator, painter, and designer. I have been illustrating and painting since 2010 and designing since 1999. I went into graphic design out of high school because i was told by a high school teacher that I cannot draw and should not be doing art. Which was a shame because I loved art.
But I listened to him and found my way to college, not pursuing art. Instead I majored in communication, which I did love, and found graphic design. I later received my masters in Design from Pratt Institute in 2002 in Digital Design and have been working as a graphic designer since. I got back into fine art about in 2010 Since then I have been creating non stop and continue to try new ideas and new mediums.
My inspiration comes from my son, life, and type...and oh yes monsters. I cannot forget monsters. The medium I use for paintings is spray paint. The medium I use for illustrations always starts as a sketch on paper, but ends up digital. I use a Cintiq for drawing and sketchbook pro and photoshop and sometimes adobe illustrator.
